2017 Legislative Update
is intended to provide licensed property managers and Board Members with a detailed overview of the most recent and significant changes in community association law. The statutory changes discussed affect condominium, homeowners' associations, and will include: clarification as to requirements for proxies; electronic transmission of meeting notices; internet based unit owner voting procedures; requirements for budgeting details; discussion of the rights and lawful procedure for Boards to impose fines and suspensions against owners and residents for rules violations; plans of termination and related issues, and many other important changes. We will also discuss recent court decisions which affect the daily operation of community associations, including the hot button topic of Quiet Title Actions against mortgage holders.
